Devotion vs Discipline and a FULL MOON Journaling Exercise

Lead With Strength. Embody Your Truth. Spread The Love.

Lately I’ve been thinking about the idea of Devotion vs Discipline.

The definition of devotion: love, loyalty, or enthusiasm for a person, activity, or cause.

The definition of discipline: the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behaviour, using punishment to correct disobedience.

I’ve never resonated with the masculine dominated idea of discipline – cause I’m a bit of a female rebel at heart. <3 But my creative, right-brained, free-spirited mind also NEEDS structure and support.

So this more feminine idea of devotion really resonates for me…to send love and loyalty to the activity or cause at hand gives it a totally different energy – and one that gets me excited to get behind.

These days, I’m devoting my energy towards my health and well-being, and really getting this body temple running smoothly so that I can be a clear vessel for my cause, my community and my family – and to feel really freaking good!

So, on or around the next Full Moon – I invite you to ask yourself these questions:

What are you devoting yourself to right now, as we begin to enter this season of Spring, and for what purpose?

What areas of your life have you been putting pressure to discipline yourself in, and how can you soften that pressure with this idea of devotion instead?

On the Full Moon, which is a time of increased creativity, imagination and ability to connect with our spiritual selves, what are 1-2 rituals or actions that you could create for yourself to help you strengthen your sense of devotion for that cause or activity?

And what are the boundaries that need to be put in place in order for you to move forward with that cause with fierce grace?

Take a moment on the evening of the next Full Moon (or anytime!), with your journal and a cup of tea in hand to dive into these question, and feel free to comment below and share your answers with me…would love to hear what comes up for you!

P.S. We still have a couple of spaces left in our Soulstice Sisterhood Virtual Track. If this potent work of healing on a deep inner level for more effective action on an outer level – through cycling with nature, diving DEEP into ritual + ceremony,  working with the body, and tapping into creativity and joy, speaks to you – I invite you to fill out the application ON THIS PAGE, and I’d be happy to hop on the phone with you to discuss the possibility of you joining our supportive circle. This work and this circle is SO freaking good and would be deeply honored to have you join us.
