I’ll be honest, even though I’ve facilitated MANY events in the past, I was pretty damn nervous leading up to the retreat.

I was concerned that El Niño would seriously go ape and rear its ugly head, apprehensive that all the moving pieces i.e. the caterer, taxi, massage therapist, photographer, participants wouldn’t all come together in a timely manner, and hopeful the content that I had prepared would land for the group.

But as soon as the women were here, of course I relaxed and was fully in the zone. Big shifts happened and revelations were experienced by all…including me.

My revelation? The power of surrender and trust. Surrendering to what we can’t control (El Niño anyone?), and trusting in my abilities to create and lead a gorgeous, expansive experience for these women.

As I was guiding my clients on how to reclaim their uninhibited feminine power, I felt myself reclaiming my own, with a deeper awareness that leading retreats IS – what Gay Hendricks calls, my Zone of Genius – where I feel most alive, where work doesn’t feel like work and where time just flows.

I was also reminded yet again of the healing power of bringing together a community of strong, dedicated, like-minded ladies…and of allowing oneself to be held by other committed women that are on a similar path…knowing and trusting that we don’t have to go on the journey of personal growth alone, and how now is the time to come back to the power of the collective.

It was seriously amazing and I’m still buzzing and bowing down with gratitude…

And speaking of collectives, for those of you who are in the Bay Area, I’m thrilled to share that next week I’ll be leading my first public women’s leadership gathering, The Powerhouse Collective in my workshop space next Thursday February 4th.

The intention: to bring together change-makers for an evening of intimate connection and guided conversation on themes like empowerment, feminine leadership, creativity, self-love, non-conformity and embodiment. 

Our inaugural February gathering will focus on the theme of SELF-LOVE , and will include live music, mini massages, lite bites, libations and handmade gifts for purchase.

Also, 10% of all proceeds will be donated to Women Thrive Worldwide – a nonprofit organization committed to ending violence against women and helping to amplify their voices.
